Escape Proof Harness Lead

The Harness Lead was designed to be used as a harness to alleviate pressure on the trachea. It will mold around any body type or figure. Absolutely amazing for pigs (up to 300 pounds). It is a very gentle design to reduce pulling. The pig's own pressure against the leash will encourage him or her to slow down their pace. The harness tightens around the barrel only.

No tightening around the trachea. No more choking and gagging. The soft fibers are gentle on pig's skin. The design is intentionally minimal to avoid irritation and discomfort. There are no flat hard edges to break open the pig's skin. No buckles digging into backs of legs or armpits. No metal pushing into the back. No irritating chest plate.

Harness Lead is a double braided nylon that is hand spliced in the USA. Constructed in the same way as dock line, it is literally strong enough to hook a boat and can withstand upwards of 3,700 lbs. of pressure. Harness Lead is a vegan, cruelty-free product.

How do I know which size to order?

Harness Lead comes in 2 sizes: S/M and M/L.

The S/M is 7.4 ft. in total length and slightly thinner in diameter.  The M/L is 9.4 ft. in total length. As piggy grows in circumference, your "leash" will get shorter. This is something to consider. So, if your pig is 1 year old and 40 pounds, piggy will still be growing, I suggest the M/L. If piggy is 5 years old and 25 pounds, either will work - it just depends on the leash length you are wanting. We have put a M/L on the smallest of pigs and it works just great.

*To be escape proof, use only as directed. While pig is wearing a harness, hold leash part only.  Do not grab the top of harness or any area in which you will create space between dog and harness. Creating space will allow the pig to wriggle out. Be aware of excess slack between harness and body especially on pigs with short legs.

Here's a Tip

Once you properly fit Harness Lead to pig and you begin the walk, you will notice the rubber disc will rise in the air. This is correct. The Rubber Disc is there to prevent over-loosening.  The Rubber Disc acts as a "floater." Allow the disc to rise and fall naturally. Do not continue to push it down as you walk, this will keep the leash tight on the pig.
